Annnnnnndddd I resigned from my job, otherwise I would’ve been fired!

Made a couple mistakes, that were resolved. Something else went wrong, and an email from head office attributed to me, even though my paperwork proved otherwise. Lovely.

So, better to quit and keep my job safe in Canada, than get fired.

What bullshit! My life is falling apart! Housing going… Job gone…

Gotta keep it together though, as I have guests this weekend! Posts of their visit coming!

London Symphony Orchestra

OMG SO BORED.

So, I decided to go for a walk. Maybe a tube ride.

I ended up on a train towards Canary Wharf, the site of London’s tallest building and new business district.

Sorry I didn’t get a shot of the tallest building, but there wasn’t really any good place to take one!

I took a walk around the area and I stumbled onto a free performance from the London Symphony Orchestra, how cool! I stayed and listened a bit. Very nice.

Another short walk, then I decided to take a ride on the Docklands Light Rail (DLR), which is much nicer than the tube, if not a bit slower. Very similar to Edmonton’s LRT, and a nice ride.

Ended up at Bank station, and took the tube home. Nice to get out for a bit.

July 3rd, 2010. HAPPY PRIDE.

August 17, 2010

The beginning of the end.

I was planning on heading down to the parade by myself, but someone I know invited me to go with his friends and colleagues. Much better than going alone, I’d say. I agreed.

I went over to his place in the morning, then we went to Warren St to meet up with his friends. So I was with 4 nurses, one friend, and one sister. Really nice people.

We went and got a snack (not breakfast, because for some reason we didn’t go to one of the many places with an actual menu), then walked down towards Oxford, where the parade was.

HOLY SHIT THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE. Good fucking lord.

I must say though, I am rather disappointed. I saw one parade and a few fags, then the people I was with didn’t want to stick around. So we fought the crowd to get to Soho. We ended up at a pub and all of us got piss drunk for the rest of the day and night. Fun time had despite the lack of parade. The crowd in the bar was pretty entertaining.

So, I suppose I will have to wait until next year to see the parade. Oh well. But, enjoy the pictures I do have. I have never seen so many people at a Pride Parade. Makes Vancouver’s look like small potatoes, and Edmonton’s… Well, I won’t go there!

July 1st. Canada Day!

August 17, 2010

People!

So, luck would have it that my day off is Canada Day. Brilliant.

Since my first pay day was yesterday, I spent last night getting rather drunk. I woke up today a little earlier than intended, but it turned out for the best. If I went any earlier I would be mind numbingly bored!

Looking at the Canada Day in London website, I had high hopes of getting my poutine on. So, I gathered up my shit and ONWARD!

Lazy sod.

August 7, 2010

I know, I know. I have posts here written and waiting, but it’s a matter of sorting the damned pictures.

I’ve also spent the last couple weeks sick, job searching, and house hunting. Now I am also getting back into work and settling into new flat.

Still a lazy sod though. Dammit.
