January 16 2011, DINOSAURS! RAWR!

My baby friend and I

It’s been a rather stressful week and a half of job hunting. This city is very messed up, and nobody makes it easy to do anything. Bloody pain in the ass!

I won’t bore you with the details, instead I will continue on to the good part.

The Natural History Museum!

Ooooh...

To relax a bit, I decided to take some of my new free time and go there with a friend. It has been a while since I’ve been to any museum… Actually, like, since July. Shocking… Wait, not true! There was that uber-quick tour of the London Museum, but I’m not going to count that. I don’t even have any pictures of it.

Now, I have attempted in the past to go to this particular one, but the queue has always been outrageous. It was a pleasant surprise that there was none here on this day, thankfully. Well… Not quite…

Inside the first section to visit is the dinosaurs. That is where the queue was on this particular day. I can only imagine it being more severe on busy days, when outside the lineup goes ’round the block. So, okay, whatever, coping. After going through the section, I think the Edmonton museum has a better dinosaur collection… But the animatronics on the T-Rex were pretty cool.

Anyways, moving on. Stuff in jars (LOTS), whale bones, lots of shiny rocks. Very cool earthquake platform, and some other interactive exhibits. Overall it was pretty cool. I skipped things I thought were rather boring. The Victoria & Albert museum (previously mentioned a few times) is still my favourite thus far.

I didn’t take a lot of pictures, but enjoy the ones I did. :P
